Yellowjackets’ second season officially aired in 2023 (same year Poor Things came out) on Showtime. It received positive reviews from critics and viewers alike. A third season aired in 2025. A fourth and final season will end the series sometime around 2026.

Full & Empty Elements
The Cast from Season 1 reprise their roles and they all did a superb job for their respective performances.
Newcomers to the series such as Lauren Ambrose, (Clair Fisher from Six Feet Under) Simone Kessell & Elijah Wood all did a decent job for their respective performances.
Chemistry between The Girls serve as the main highlight. Their interactions move the story forward.
Primary Themes are Survival, Friendship & Trauma. Each one’s handled carefully.
If you grew up in the ‘90s there’s some good tunes.
Fun Fact: My mom and I got our pic with Christina Ricci at Fan Expo Dallas 2025. I hope one day I get my pic with Juliette Lewis. The latter’s one of my favorite actresses.

Random Thought: Nat & Tai are my favorite characters.
Empty: The Season Finale pushed my buttons. I have no choice, but to Double Down this con. If you know, you know.
Not to sound gross, but The Girls in the wilderness manage to survive without tampons. It’s a scientific fact a woman needs a tampon to stop the bleeding coming out of her “beaver.”
A new plane survivor suddenly pops up. I don’t even remember her in Season 1.
Episode 9 – Friends, Romans, Countrymen
In 1996 the exact same year two of my all-time favorite movies, “Independence Day” & “Matilda” came out, The Girls continue to fight for survival.
In 2021 the exact same year Zack Snyder’s Justice League became a reality, Nat reunites with an old friend.
Something happens near the end.
Episode 10 – Edible Complex
10th episode’s a form of wordplay on Oedipus complex. It’s a messed-up story about a Greek king.
In 1996 around the same time “Braveheart” won Best Picture at the Oscars, things take a turn for the worse.
In 2021 around the same time Nomadland didn’t deserve an Oscar for Best Picture, Nat goes on a community tour in the woods while obtaining info. Misty makes a new friend. Tai has an “episode.”
A shocking moment towards the end will make you gasp. If you know, you know.
Episode 11 – Digestif
Back in 1996 when “Scream” made horror movies awesome again, Tai experiences an unpleasant episode. We get flashbacks of Ben’s life prior to the crash. Nat seeks provisions for her friends. Meanwhile, The Girls deeply regret what they’ve done last night. One of the survivors performs a monologue from a movie.
Cut to 2021 when Warner Bros produced a crossover movie with Godzilla and King Kong going mono e mono, Misty & Walter do some detective work. Shauna has a random encounter. Nat takes a tour from an old friend.
Episode 12 – Old Wounds
Rewind to 1996 when “Hey Arnold” first aired on Nickelodeon, Nat & Lottie search for food. Misty bonds with a fellow survivor. Tensions rise between The Girls.
Fast-Forward to 2021 when “Loki” first streamed on Disney Plus, Tai reunites with old flame, Val. Misty & Walter continue their detective work.
Episode 13 – Two Truths and a Lie
Return to the year “Space Jam” introduced ’90s babies like me to Looney Tunes, something unexpected happened. Shauna has a painful experience with her “girl parts.” Misty reveals a deep dark secret.
Cut to the year Demon Slayer’s first movie came out, Walter goes on a stealth mission. Callie makes huge discovery.
Episode 14 – Qui
Rewind to the year “Crash Bandicoot” came out, The Girls struggle to deliver the “Circle of Life.” If you know what I’m talking about. Shauna faces some harsh reality.
Fast-forward to the year “The Alienist” never got renewed for a third season, Shauna makes a confession. The Girls band together at a retreat talking about their problems back then.
Episode 15 – Burial
Back in 1996 around the same time Beck’s Grammy winning album “Odelay” opened in stores, Shauna goes through a rough time. Lacking provisions, The Girls suffer from starvation.
Cut to 2021 around the same time “Spider-Man: No Way Home” became the highest grossing film of the year, The Girls continue their treatment at the wellness center. Tai has a difficult time adjusting her mental state.
Episode 16 – It Chooses
Rewind to the year Turbo Man was the most popular toy in “Jingle All the Way,” The Girls begin a ritual to perform a human sacrifice. Who lives, who dies.
Flash forward to Lucasfilm resurrecting LucasArts as Lucasfilm Games, The Girls confess they have skeletons in their closet.
Episodes 17 – Storytelling
True: Back in 1996 when “Beavis and Butthead Do America” came out, somebody’s chosen leading up to a chase scene. All heck breaks loose.
Cut to 2021 when “Moon Knight” streamed on Disney Plus, Lottie attempts a deadly ritual.
False: Again, the Season Finale pushed my buttons.
The Final Verdict: B-
Unlike the first season, this one is painfully mediocre. The Season Finale felt like a slap to the face. If you’re trying to get caught up before the fourth and final season, check out Seasons 1-3.
