My Hero Academia: Season 8

Picking up immediately after Season 7, Deku, Todoroki, Kacchan, Class 1-A and the Pro Heroes continue their epic battle against Shigaraki & All For One during the Final War Arc. A point of no return. Who will live or who will perish? All eleven episodes of My Hero Academia’s eighth and final season are now streaming on Crunchyroll. It received praise from critics, fans and streamers alike. A spin-off titled, “My Hero Academia: Vigilantes” is also streaming on Crunchyroll.

Anyway, I got plans to attend Fan Expo Dallas 2026 on September 11-13. Several anime voice actors will sign autographs/merch and take pics with tons of people. As save up some dough, I wanna share my thoughts on the eighth and final season. Don’t forget to check out my previous My Hero Academia non-spoiler reviews.

Today’s review contains no crucial SPOILERS.

Strong & Weak Aspects

Strong: Voice Actors reprise their roles and they all did an excellent job for their respective voiceover performances.

Animation’s top tier. You can tell the animators worked their butts off polishing every single detail.

Action Sequences are spectacular. Each character has an epic moment. They didn’t feel shoehorned. They actually served a purpose.

Fun Fact: I got my pics Justin Cook (Kirishima) & Chris Rager (Cementoss) at Fan Expo Dallas 2025. Good times. Maybe I’ll get my pic in 2026 with other cast members. I’d like to have my pic with Briana Palencia. She voiced Mineta.

Pacing for each episode didn’t feel like a slow burn. My eyes were glued to the screen.

Flashbacks show origin stories of Shigaraki & All For One.

Thanks to Character Development from previous seasons and films, Deku forms a strong bond with Class 1-A. Kacchan on the other hand, becomes close with Deku making up for all the bullying.

Characters from the films make cameo appearances.

Twists and Turns will make you gasp. They change everything within the status quo. I cannot tell you all the details. You’ll have to see for yourself.

The final episode perfectly concluded the show.

Fun Fact 2: Speaking of conclusion, Michael B. Jordan confirmed he cried watching the last episode. He’s also an anime fan. You reading that J.J. “Jar Jar” Abrams? Unlike “Lost,” this is how you end a series on a high note. Shame thing to you, David Chase. Your final episode of “The Sopranos” was a dud.

Weak: I couldn’t find nothing wrong. I’m giving Bones Studio an Extra Point for making a flawless final season.

Series Overall: A-

Unlike “Stranger Things,” My Hero Academia’s final season properly wraps up the series on a high note something The Duffer Brothers failed to execute plot threads. If you’re new to My Hero Academia, watch all eight seasons and four films. One more thing, a bonus television special based on the manga’s 431st chapter will be adapted and scheduled to premiere on May 2, 2026. Which is approximately two days before Star Wars Day. I can’t wait to indulge this extra treat.
