My Hero Academia: Season 6

My Hero Academia’s sixth season officially aired in 2022 (same year The Batman came out) on Adult Swim. It received positive reviews from critics, fans and viewers alike. A fourth movie is in development. A seventh season will air sometime in 2024. As a fan of the show, I wanna share my thoughts on the sixth season. One more thing, a free-to-play game, “My Hero Ultra Rumble” is out.

Today’s review contains no huge SPOILERS. Before you watch Season 6, check out the third movie “World Heroes’ Mission.” What anime series should I review next? Please leave a comment and I’ll reply back.

Mighty & Weak Qualities

Mighty: Voice Actors reprise their roles and they all did an excellent job for their respective performances.

Animation brings a few things to life such as an immersive world, character models, fluid movement, lighting and environmental locations.

Action Sequences escalate a war between heroes and villains.

Season 6 has two story arcs. “Paranormal Liberation Front” & “Dark Hero.” My favorite’s the former.

Class 1-A, Class 1-B and the Pro Heroes assemble to evacuate citizens, prevent Shigaraki from unleashing his full power to wipe out humanity and defeat the Paranormal Liberation Front led by Shigaraki.

The Tone’s serious lacking humor. Meaning, our heroes face the point of no return. There are a few shocking moments in between that will make you gasp. I haven’t seen anything quite big since “Avengers: Infinity War.” Emotional and Physical stakes drastically increase.

The show’s influenced by Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man Trilogy,” “Harry Potter,” “Dragon Ball Z,” “Naruto” “X-Men” & “Star Wars.”

Pacing for each episode didn’t bother me.

Mirko became one of my favorite characters. Her quirk’s based on a rabbit.

Almost every prominent character factors in.

A Plot Twist changes everything.

Thanks to Character Development from previous seasons, Deku gains all the skills he needs to battle Shigaraki. He’ll need all the help he can get from Kacchan, Class 1-A and the Pro Heroes.

Episode 130 – “The Wrong Way to Put Out Fire” explores Endeavor as a family man back when Todorokai was a little boy.

Episode 131 – “Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shgaraki” delves deep into the One for All quirk.

Kachaan finally comes up with a codename.

Dabi’s dance scene pays homage to “Joker.”

Dr. Garaki looks like Wilford Brimley. The “Diabeetus” guy from Liberty Medical commercials. Garaki’s tied to the bad guys.

In the second half of Season 6, Deku makes a big gamble. By the way, his costume looks like a cross between Green Arrow & Mad Max.

Despite less jokes, my favorite line from Fatgum is, “Booty incoming!’

Without giving anything away, a few characters meet their end.

Nearly every single character has an epic moment. I’m giving an Extra Point per character. It’s hard for me to root for the heroes and villains.

Season 6’s finale sets up Season 7.

Weak: I couldn’t find nothing wrong.

The Final Verdict: A, FOR APEX!

My Hero Academia’s sixth season is by far the best. If you’re already caught up on Season 5, now’s the time to watch Season 6. I’m so looking forward to a fourth movie and Season 7.
