Pig

“Pig” was officially released in 2021. (same year Spider-Man: No Way Home came out) It received universal acclaim from critics and made $4 million at the box office. Nicolas Cage’s most recent film “Reinfeld” is now streaming on Peacock. He’s recently a playable DLC character in the survival horror video game “Dead by Daylight.”

Safe & Dangerous Qualities

Safe: Nicolas Cage did an excellent job for his performance. He also co-produced the film. Mr. Cage stated Pig is his best work out of all his films.

Alex Wolff & Adam Arkin (the son of the late Alan Arkin) both did a decent job for their respective performances. The former mentioned Nic’s his favorite actor.

Rather than trying to save a kid or love interest, Rob’s goal is to rescue his pig. It felt like a breath of fresh air.

Dangerous: Michael Sarnoski (A Quiet Place: Day One) did a really bad job constructing a cohesive narrative.

Cinematography can be a bit janky at times.

A temporary break-up between two characters occurred. I find it predictable in most Buddy cop and rom-com movies. Why? Because you two people will put aside their differences and move on.

Pacing is slow and boring as heck. I thought this film was gonna be like the John Wick series with Mr. Cage fighting his way through enemies so he can rescue his pig from danger. Oh jeez. A 90-minute film with a slow pace? Really? I’d rather watch a three-hour cut of “The First Wives Club!” Way more entertaining than this pretentious piece of crud!

A random scene with Rob talking to a little boy about percentage. It has nothing to do with the plot whatsoever. In the words of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” “GET ON WITH IT!’

Marketing for the film lied to me that this was advertised as Keanu Reeves’ aforementioned series. I’ve been tricked.

After Rob gets beat up by a guy for an entire minute, he never retaliates using his combat skills. He easily obtains the information. That’s not how it works. Imagine if John Wick obtain info from getting beat up and could possibly die? Doesn’t make any logical sense. Heck, that’s like Bruce Lee not beating everybody up using his nunchucks in “Fist of Fury.” Talk about a gutterball!

In Act One, Rob’s radio was on the shelf. Near the end of Act Three, his radio is on the table.

The Ending didn’t resolve anything. Basically, a film about nothing. I had to paraphrase a quote from “Seinfeld.” “A show about nothing.”

The Final Verdict: F, FOR FAKER!

Pig’s one of the worst films of 2021 alongside “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” I expected to be a John Wick type action movie with Nicolas Cage mowing down bad guys and earn himself a happy ending with his pig. I’m extremely appalled a lot of critics praised Pig as one of the best films 2021. Absolutely ridiculous. Sorry folks, I hated it. If you wanna see a few movies similar to John Wick, watch “Nobody,” “Atomic Blonde” & “Bullet Train.”
