Sound of Freedom

Angel Studios’ “Sound of Freedom” officially premiered in 2022 (same year The Whale came out) at the Coronado Island Film Festival and was given a theatrical release a year later. It received praise from critics.

Jim Caviezel confirmed he’ll reprise his role as Jesus in a sequel to Mel Gibson’s controversial “The Passion of the Christ” coming in 2024. This time, it’ll focus on the resurrection of Jesus.

Today’s review contains no SPOILERS. Keep in mind, this is a short article. It’s not a complex mystery thriller.

Positive & Negative Aspects

Positive: Jim Caviezel did an excellent job for his performance.

Other Cast Members such as Mira Sorvino & Bill Camp both did a solid job for their respective performances.

Based on true events, the story centers around Tim Ballard. A special agent for Homeland Security Investigation or HSI for short, quits his job to take matters into his own hands. Goes on a dangerous mission to rescue kids from drug cartels and human trafficking.

Pacing didn’t take forever going from one scene to another.

Cinematography never succumbed to Shaky Cam.

Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth) orchestrated the soundtrack.

Don’t expect heavy gunfire. This is a realistic approach on Tim going undercover to save the children.

Negative: I couldn’t find nothing wrong. I’m giving the cast and crew an Extra Point for making a flawless film as possible.

The Final Verdict: A, FOR APEX!

Sound of Freedom’s definitely worth the price of admission. Ten times better than “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” If you have no plans after 4th of July, go out and support this film.

I’m looking forward to Angel Studios’ upcoming content. I wanna see “The Shift.”
